second hand clothing sale

Thank you to everyone who supported and send in donations for the second-hand clothing sale in March. A fine sum of R6568 was raised, which will go towards our Bursary Fund.

sport & extra-murals

The winter sport/extra-mural programme is available here:Term 3 Sport & Extra-Mural Timetable and also on the Edana App under Documentation, Sport/Extra-murals.  A hard copy has gone home with each pupil from Grade 1 – 7.

  • Please note that hockey for Grade 3-7 starts on Tuesday, 12 April and netball on Wednesday, 13 April.
  • Hockey for Grade 1 and Grade 2 starts on Monday, 25 April and Wednesday, 20 April and Thursday, 21 April respectively.

We have had a request to supply a bus to take the girls to netball practice at RGHS (U11, U12 and U13), unfortunately for various logistical reasons, this is not possible for the 2nd term.  We will look at how this could possibly be accommodated in the third term.

tennis

Good luck to Lyndsey Philipps who will be playing in the Tennis Nationals in Bloemfontein during the holidays.

CROSS COUNTRY GRADE 3 – 7

It is compulsory for all Grade 3 – 7 girls to do Cross Country during second break on Wednesdays during the 2nd and 3rd terms.  For this to work safely, we need parents as marshals on the route.  The time is from 12.45 – approximately 13.30, sometimes earlier.  If you are able to assist or are able to ride a bicycle alongside the runners, please contact Sandi Blackbeard.  It is important for our girls to be fit in order to play their sport, but their safety is paramount.

GUM GUARDS

Jeanne-Marie Engelbrecht will be at Micklefield to do impressions for those who would like custom made mouth guards for hockey.  These are not compulsory, but are available for those who would like to have them made.  They are more expensive than the shop bought gum guards and are geared for the older girls.  Please complete the form which is available on the Edana App under Documentation – Sport & Extra-Murals. Hard copies will also be available to interested pupils.

Please ensure that payment is made directly to Jeanne-Marie and that your daughter brings her form to school by Wednesday, 13 April.

Good luck to the Open A Hockey squad who left for their tour to Knysna on Thursday!
Congratulations to Sophia Pooley in Grade 7 who is now the U13 South African Beach Sprint Champion for Lifesaving South Africa! Well done, Sophia, we are so proud of you!
