COLLECTION OF PUPILS AT THE END OF THE SCHOOL DAY: GRADE 00 – 2

Parents who wish to collect their daughters from outside the classroom must ensure that they are outside the classroom 5 minutes before the end of the school day.  Please wait quietly away from the door so as not to distract the girls.  The teachers will then walk all other pupils to the front gate to be collected, like it was during our Covid restrictions.  Pupils who are attending Aftercare or extra-murals will go to their respective venues.

Sport & extra-murals

The winter sport/extra-mural programme is available on the Edana App under Documentation, Sport/Extra-murals.

Fixture lists for both hockey and netball are also available on the Adana App under Documents, Sport/Extra-Murals.  Please note that each week all the information and team lists for that particular week will be sent out after the practices for the matches taking place that week.

SPORT ETIQUETTE

When attending sports matches, please can spectators support the teams as a whole, Micklefield, and not call out individual players names as it is very distracting for the players who need to hear and follow the instructions from their coach. Please be mindful of your behaviour on the side of the field.  Sportsmanship is of utmost importance, both on and off the field.

All players must have their fleece or tracksuit top to put on after a practice and match.  This is common policy for all sports people as the body temperature is raised during a practice or match and in order to prevent our players getting sick, it is best practice to put on a top after exercise.  Please support us and ensure that your daughter has her clearly marked fleece or tracksuit top at these events.  Please also ensure that your daughter’s hair is neatly tied back and not hanging in her face while trying to practice or play a match.  No jewellery is allowed.

HOCKEY SOCKS: GRADE 3 – 7

The Bishops Shop has been struggling to get the correct colour grey yarn for our striped hockey socks.  Those who have purchased socks in the last 6 months will notice that the colour appears black instead of grey.  Please use these socks as practice socks as the correct stock has now arrived and is available at The Bishops Shop.  Please purchase the correct grey and pink striped socks and those must be used for matches.  We apologise for the inconvenience and extra expense, but unfortunately, the matter was out of our control and we need to be wearing the correct school uniform for our matches.

HOCKEY SOCKS: GRADE 1 AND GRADE 2

Please note the striped hockey socks are only for pupils from Grade 3 – 7 for their matches.  The white practice socks are worn by the Grade 1 and Grade 2 pupils who are doing extra-mural hockey.  The striped socks are only worn for matches from Grade 3 upwards.

Our younger grades were treated to a book reading by bestselling author, Marleen Lammers. Her latest book The Bok Who Lost His Spring is a funny tale about a bokkie who loses his pronk! The girls were enthralled by the story, they loved their fact finding mission about springboks and they also enjoyed the mask-making and colouring activities that followed.
