Sport & extra-murals

The winter sport/extra-mural programme is available here:Term 3 Sport & Extra-Mural Timetable and also on the Edana App under Documentation, Sport/Extra-murals.  A hard copy has gone home with each pupil from Grade 1 – 7. Please keep the hard copy information in an accessible place.

  • Hockey for Grade 1 and Grade 2 starts on Monday, 25 April and Wednesday, 20 April and Thursday, 21 April respectively.

We have had a request to supply a bus to take the girls to netball practice at RGHS (U11, U12 and U13), unfortunately for various logistical reasons, this is not possible for the 2nd term.  We will look at how this could possibly be accommodated in the third term.

GUM GUARDS

Jeanne-Marie Engelbrecht will be at Micklefield to do impressions for those who would like custom made mouth guards for hockey.  These are not compulsory, but are available for those who would like to have them made.  They are more expensive than the shop bought gum guards and are geared for the older girls.  Please complete the form available Mouth Guard Form Hard copies will also be available to interested pupils.

SPORT HOUR

There is no Sport Hour for Grades 4, 5, 6 and 7 in the last week of term.  Grade 3 will continue with their Sport Hour as it is during the school day.

JUNIOR CHOIR – GRADES 1, 2 AND 3

Junior Choir will start up next term on Fridays in the Multifunction Room from 07.20 – 07.55.  Any girls who are interested in joining the Junior Choir must come to the first practice on Friday, 22 April.  There are no auditions, we hope to accommodate all those who would like to participate.

SWIMMING

Well done to our gala swimmers who participated in the PGSGU Inter-Schools gala held at the Herschel Senior School pool on Monday, 14 March.  Being the only school without their own pool makes this a challenging event for us, but we are so proud of our swimmers for showing such grit and determination.  A special word of congratulations to Sophia Trout who won the U13 50m Butterfly event – a fantastic feat against such strong competition!  The eight girls’ schools competed and Micklefield finished 7th overall.

Very cold but happy swimmers!
