BIRTHDAY OUTREACH

In celebration of Micklefield’s birthday, we would like to give back to the community by providing warm and nourishing meals to families in need. You can support this initiative by collecting your empty coffee jars and following this simple recipe. These jars provide a substantial meal for a family of 4 and all they need is a pot and hot water. Get your children involved in creating these ‘Jars of Hope.’ More information will follow next week.

MOSAIC PACKS
The deadline for returning your completed mosaic has been extended to Tuesday 27 July 2021. Please return them in their boxes. Please let us know if you have run out of mosaic pieces or glue. We have spares and can send home with your daughter. A reminder too, to please e-mail a photograph of your mosaic being made to: joanne@micklefield.co.za

SECOND-HAND UNIFORM SALE & LOST PROPERTY
The dates and times of the Term 3 Second Hand Uniform Sale have been changed slightly and will be held in the hall foyer as follows:
Tuesday 27 July: 12 – 2pm
Wednesday 28 July: 12 – 1pm

COVID PROTOCOLS

Please notify your class teacher, Jeannette Welgemoed and Sandi Blackbeard immediately if your daughter or any member of your family contracts Covid or comes into contact with a positive person.  Please supply as much information as possible so as to help with tracking and tracing and in order to be able to inform the rest of the class appropriately.

Please be extra cautious as we return to school and keep to the Covid protocols in order to keep everyone as safe and healthy as possible.

Thank you to Dr Claudia Gray for the following reminders:

  • If any direct family member or any other direct contact goes for a Covid test, your daughter must be kept at home until the result of the Covid test is known.
  • Self quarantining is 10 days from the time there was last contact with a positive person. If during this time, you become symptomatic and test positive, you have to start a further 10 days isolation from the time of onset of the symptoms.
  • Self-isolation is 10 days from the onset of symptoms (test positive) or if asymptomatic, 10 days from a positive test result. You may return to school/work without re-testing as long as the person is symptom-free.
  • The best time to test after being exposed to a positive person is 7/8 days from the last contact.
  • The PCR test has a longer turnaround time (1/2 days) but is best as it is sensitive to asymptomatic people as well as those with symptoms.
  • The Rapid Test is cheaper and you can get results as quickly as 15 minutes. This is a better test for symptomatic people, but it is less sensitive in younger children.
