COVID PROTOCOLS

We are aware that the new Covid protocols have been gazetted.

  • Mask wearing is still mandatory.
  • The 1m distance in the classrooms as been removed, but teachers will social distance children where possible.
  • Those who test positive with no symptoms do not have to isolate, but please be sensitive with regards to this as the virus can spread very quickly within in a classroom situation.
  • The isolation period is reduced to 7 days for those who test positive with symptoms.
  • Contacts do not have to isolate unless they develop symptoms.

Epidemiologists are of the view that our protocols should include:

  • Vaccinate all adults on the school grounds (to the best of your ability)
  • Wear masks indoors
  • Get fresh air into the classrooms (or get classrooms/gatherings outdoors where possible)
  • Stay home if sick with ANY symptoms and only come back when well.
